Specially dedicated to children’s imagination, this exhibition displays over 30 prints from Europe, representing mythical monsters from Greek mythology, the Satan of Christianity and his creatures. Beyond the viewer’s direct discovery or recognition of the creatures, most of the prints contain a direct moral content, the struggle between Good and Evil, as well as the artist’s personal approach to the subject matter. Works which convey a symbolic or moral message are presented next to happier works by artists with fertile imaginations.

Folk art and έντεχνα works are presented, by artists of various eras and countries (G. Doré, W. Hogarth, S. Kalinov, J.P. Marchal etc.), with a strong presence of Greek and Cypriot contemporary engravers: e.g. P.Gravalou, D. Sialerli, Hambis, P.Larkou, G. Constantinou

The annual exhibitions New Acquisitions and Mythical Creatures are open from Wednesday to Sunday, with opening hours 10.00 – 13.00 and 16.00 – 18.00 April-October (10.00 – 13.00 and 15.00 – 17.00 November until 18 February 2024).
