Opening night: Thursday 17th June at 20:00.
A solo exhibition of works exploring the notion of being sessile*. Simone explores the relationship between humans and the natural world through the study of archaeological artifacts and plant life. She creates visual hybrids of object and plant seedling studies, stimulating the viewer’s botanical mind.
The exhibition pays homage to Nature and celebrates her quiet yet abiding power.
On display is a collection of drawings and original stone lithographs, taking the viewer through the slow process-based approach of printmaking.
*To be sessile is to be in a state of a permanent fixture to a place without the ability to move about. This lack of movement should not be confused with a lack of subjectivity in plants.
